Hey y'all! I had been planning on putting together thank-you bags for the labor and delivery nurses who would take care of Carter Cole & I during our stay at the hospital even before we got pregnant thanks to my addiction to searching Pinterest for hours (seriously I could plan another wedding, host 3 baby showers, 2 birthday parties & redecorate our entire house .. haha but that's to be talked about later). During my pregnancy we had made a couple visits up to the labor and delivery floor before our actual delivery and each time I realized how grateful I was to be treated with amazing care! The labor and delivery nurses were always so sweet. I felt like it's the least we could do for how hard they work!
Here's what I included in our thank-you bags:
- Chapstick
- Gum
- Full Size Candy Bar
- Mentos
- Pocket Size Hand Sanitizer
- Granola Bar
- Fruit Snacks
I added all of the treats to the thank-you bags, tied them with ribbon and added the tags that I made for each bag. I ended up making 12 bags total (making sure we'd have enough to give a bag to every nurse that cared for Carter Cole & I throughout our stay at the hospital).
Our thank-you bags were a huge hit with our nurses and it was really the least we could do to say "thanks" for all they did for us during our stay! We gave one to the doctor and the anesthesiologist as well and they loved them too! It's really the least we could do for the big role they all played in bringing our Carter Cole into the world!
* I made sure to include a variety of treats in our thank-you bags so that not all of the bags were alike. Each one of our thank-you bags came out to cost about $5.00 with sales tax. Chapstick $1.00, Gum $0.74, Candy Bar $0.98, Mentos $0.52, Hand Sanitizer $0.67, Granola Bar $0.40, Fruit Snacks $0.33 I figured out the price per item based on how many came per package or how many like items I bought! I knew that I wanted our nurses to have the best thank-you bags I could put together, feel free to change up the items included or add your own favorite "thank-you" items to the mix!
